Settings window too large for 1024x600 netbook screens

Settings window too large for 1024x600 netbook screens

Postby WhereIsChuck » 11 Jul 2009 10:18

Hi,

first my thanks for your excellent program!

I got a new netbook and installed (of course) vlc. I am using ubuntu with xfce as window manager; the screen as a resolution of 1024x600.

The thing is, that the settings & configurations window is to large to be displayed completely on the desktop (similar also other windows tend to require more space - as the streaming assistent window). Actually I am using already a small general font size and a tiny task bar, but the config panel requieres at least ~800 pixel heights.

Can I maybe somehow deactivate the subsection icons in the settings window? Or maybe somebody knows other tweaks to 'compact' the windows or to reduce the <vlc internal> font size?

Cheers & Thanks,
Thomas
