VLC Standalone on DVD

Hey there,
short question - is it possible to put the extracted vlc folder on a dvd and use it e.g. on a pc as a player instead of an software player like power dvd?
I try to start VLC out of an director mx project - but i am not sure if it would work. Thankful for every comment!

it should work. vlc does not need to "be installed" to work, at least not on windows.
