VLC activex and image spinning

I'm programming with Visual Basic 2005. I try to put VLC activex component and image spinning code from here on the same project. Sometimes I get some mystic errors and symptoms...

I would like to ask if you know why howto_net_spin_image and videolan's vlc activex component didn't go together very well. If you pause howto_net_spin_image for a while (it is normally running with a timer), then vlc activex loads the video and plays it, but if they are both running simultaneously you get troubles. If you stop howto_net_spin_image and then start video with vlc activex component it plays normally until you start netspin again, after that video freezes (but sound is running normally) and when you pause netspin again video jumps to right position. There are no similar symptoms with Microsoft Media Player activex component (but of course it doesn't play all formats vlc does). Can you find any reasons for symptoms like this?
