No Subtitles in Nero Recode MP4

Well, here's the subtitle problem again.

I can select >Video >Subtitle >English

but I can't see them on screen.

What can I do?

I created MP4 with Nero Recode 2.x from an
directory created with DVDShrink.

There's no problem to see subtitles with
Nero ShowTime.

Any Ideas?
