Video's won't play on second monitor

I downloaded the latest RC version of VLC. I'm using this because of the closed caption support which is now included. I have a dual monitor set-up so I can send video to my LCD TV to watch. I start the video in my primary (PC) monitor and it works fine but when I drag the window to the second monitor it blacks out. No video. I've tried starting it in the second monitor and it still has the same problem.

I've tried various other players, MPC, Windows media player and Zoom player and they all work on the second monitor. I prefer VLC now that it offers closed captioned support. Is this a bug or is there something else I need to do to get it working on monitor #2?
