Videos don't play in order

When playing many videos successively -- such as in a training package -- it is important that they play in order.

When I drag several video files (ie, .mov) from a directory and drop them onto the VLC application icon, one starts to play. It is not the first one listed in the Finder directory (listed alphabetically).

Also, when I click the Next button on the VLC Controller, the next video to play is not the next one listed in the Finder directory.

This seems to be a bug. Or am I missing something...?
