Certain Mp3 not playing in VLC

Postby bigoxygen » 22 Apr 2009 00:20

Hello. I have certain mp3 that are not playing at all in vlc. The duration shows up as 00:00.
They play in WMP, though. Wondering why this is the case.

Thanks
Matt

I am also having a similar issue.

I had some PC issues, so I re-formatted my c: (my music is stored on another drive, but thought I should tell the full story). And once I had re-installed everything I decided to install VLC. I had an old version on disc, so I installed that - I triewd to play some of the .mp3 files I had played previously and they didn't work. I thought this was strange, but decided it was probably time for an update of VLC anyway. So I Downloaded the latest version and tried that, no luck - they play like they are a 1 second file , with no sound.

Again, these files all have worked in the past on VLC, but not since my re-install, Some files will play, but there is a good amount that will not.

Any ideas?

Oh Im running XP SP3

Driver issue.

Exact same problem here.

OS: Vista Home Premium x64
VLC versions: 0.9.4, then 0.9.9
SC: SB Audigy and Realtek AC'97

Are you sure it is a driver problem? Because the file works in WMP but not in VLC, using either sound card.
