could use some capture configuration help

Postby lctn » 17 Apr 2009 04:28

I use a Avermedia capture card with a conexant chip set on a Linux mint distro. This same card was used on Ubuntu Hardy which used an older version of vlc. I was easily able to set up a live capture, which worked every time (using composite port). Linux Mint uses version 9.0.4 of the player, and I have been unable to configure the capture settings via the gui. The best I get when using v4l1 is green, striped video that flickers.

When I stop the capture to view and adjust my settings , they seem to be gone.

I could use some specific instructions to set the capture up , so my video plays properly. The command line is fine too, if that is the only way to get it to play.
