Recently I have streamed a video to file. Initially the stream was saved to file (file was small ~6MB). On the second attempt the streamed file got close to 1GB and this time it wasn't saved. The file was there and could be replayed untill VLC was closed. When I restarted VLC and attempted to reopene the .ps file it was empty (only had a few KB in it). The recording was gone.
Suggestion for VLC developers: it would be very useful while starting the streaming process to have a warning (maybe a job summary) to warn the user that due to the selected options the input stream will not be saved to file. It would spare the user a lot of frustration. VLC is a great piece of work otherwise. A big thank you to the developers.
Question: is there a way to recover the lost file?
