Streaming from hybrid card

Postby StuP52 » 22 Feb 2009 12:10

Hi

I am trying to stream s-video from one of my hybrid TV cards - this worked fine with v8.x but I can't get it to work with v9.x.

Vlc will play the s-video input fine but I can't get access to the non-tv options when trying to stream from the card.

The card is in the Device list and I've ticked the Device Properties box in Advanced Options however these options don't appear when streaming, only when playing. Subsequently it streams TV only which is also choppy and pixelated and has a high use of cpu.

Thanks
Stu

You mean that you don't see then options in dialogs or they don't applied to video capture?

Hi

I select the capture device and click on Advance Options which opens the Advance Options window. I select the Device Properties check box and press 'ok' which closes the Advance Options window. Now, if I press 'Play' various Properties windows open to select Stream Format, Mixer and Crossbar where I can select s-video as input.

Ok, so going back a bit now to streaming, instead of pressing 'Play', I press 'Stream' instead, the Stream Output window opens to configure the streaming options, then press the 'Stream' button, you don't get the Properties windows to select Stream Format, Mixer and Crossbar as before, so you can't select a non-tv source such as s-video.

Hope this makes sense and thanks for you help.

Stu

Yes when setting up to Play, but No when setting up to 'Stream' , the Stream Output window opens to configure the streaming options, then press the 'Stream' button, you don't get the Properties windows to select Stream Format, Mixer and Crossbar as before, so you can't select a non-tv source such as s-video.

You get that same panel when you use other video capture tools (like Virtualdub)?

It is just that I have never seen capture device drivers that do that. I have only seen option to change those settings before capture. And I think run-time change of those settings would cause some issues for capturing.

You can't set the capture pin when Streaming, only when Playing.

Hello,

Thanks
