Fullscreen play menu options no longer shows up

Greetings everyone,

I did do a search before I posted this question which I'm sure has been asked before, but i really don't know how to call it.

Okay so when I first got VLC 0.9.8a and would go to Fullscreen, I would get this very convenient menu when I would hover my mouse over the bottom center for rewinding, fast forward, stop, play, pause, you know the standard play options. But now somehow I don't see it anymore, how do I get that to appear again on fullscreen?

Reset preferences and cache!

Operating system is Windows XP SP2

I wouldn't want to reset preferences as I have some saved ones...if you know what specific setting it is, please let me know.. If not I guess resetting is my best option.

Delete the vlc-qt-interface.conf file in your %appdata%/vlc folder.
