Crash w/ simple "No DVD menus".

Postby Bendit » 10 Feb 2009 19:30

With the newer version of VLC, the application totally crashes when using open disk with "No DVD menus" checked.

I used to do this all the time!

What changed?

Thanks!

Great work on the new versions btw. I really like the full screen controls. Fantastic!

Delete preferences and cache files. Go to "Start >> Run..." and enter %appdata%. Press OK, and then delete the "vlc" folder.

No menus doesn't work in 0.9.8a, but it shouldn't crash VLC. But it does display error dialog.

Thanks for the information! I thought I was going crazy since I had been using that feature for months and months.

So what is the best way to open a VIDEO_TS folder that has NO DVD MENUS then?

Thanks again for any info.

Another thing that used to work with version 8.6 is SAVING THE SOUND LEVEL. Now I have to max out the volume every single time I launch VLC.

Weird how features dissapear!

Cheers!

Sound level saving is in QT4 settings. Tools -> Preferences... (Show settings: All) Interface -> Main Interface -> Qt and Automatically save the volume on exit

Media -> Open Folder should also work for VIDEO_TS folders.

I am having close to the same problem. When I choose "Media", Open Disk... , or manually select the disk volume name, the program displays the correct path and DVD name at "Disk device", but crashes after reading for several seconds by the program closing. It doesn't matter if "No DVD menus" is checked or not. I had this problem with version 1.11.7 and now with 1.11.11. I can, however, successfully open the DVD by manually selecting the first VIDEO_TS.IFO file or opening the folder. I'm running XP Professional, updated the DVD drive firmware, and have all the lastest windows updates.

Can you gdb the crash with debug version?
