Help with Subtitles

Postby quindraco » 20 Jan 2009 06:47

Whenever I'm watching something with soft subtitles in VLC on Windows - and, I think, at least sometimes with hard subtitles - the subtitles disappear. They come back when I hit play. This is extremely frustrating, as I'm pausing the video to read the subtitles! Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, use VLC 1.0.0 development versions.

So it's a bug? I thought maybe I just had some settings wrong or something, like there was an option somewhere to turn off subtitles while paused, or something more obscure.

It was designed like that originally. But after people wanted to change it, default behavior was changed (as seen in VLC 1.0.0).
