turn off subtitles automatically

Postby madmax2 » 07 Jan 2009 22:38

is there any hidden settings to turn off subtitles automatically with mkv movies
or do we always have to do it manually?

if possible can the programmers please implement this setting in the next release.

Yes, it seems to be a minor error with the latest release. Subtitle track 0 is recognised as the LAST item on the subtitle track listing instead of the first option, which should be "disabled". Here's how I got around this problem

1) Go to Tools > Preferences (or CTRL + P)
2) Where it says "show settings", check ALL
3) Click on the Input/Codecs tab
4) Where it says "Subtitle Track" (under Audio Track)...set the number to 99.

Since VLC will be unable to find a track on stream 99, it will be disabled by default.

Geoff.

thanks for the tip...
it works..

but the programmers should implement a checkbox for disabling subtitles automatically in the video settings section for other ppl to use easily..
