VLC7-test2: VLC Hung errog

Hi,
Went from 6.2 to 7 beta, and after I launch VLC and go to Process Viewer because my .asf file does not open, (just sinning rainbow), it eventually says "VLC Hung."
In 6.2 I was able to get audio but no video, even though I'm running Panther 10.3.2.

640MB RAM

Downloaded 7.0 and it does the same thing when attempting to view a .asf file.
