mrouted with tunnels

Postby virtualas » 11 Dec 2008 23:04

Hi everybody,
I am trying to connect two linux based routers with mrouted running over a tunnel but unfortunatelly with no succes
Here is my scheme:

Code: Select all

- sub1 -> pc1 -sub5 -> IMGP traffic -> [R1 w/ mrouted] - sub2 -> [R2 w/ forwarding] - sub4 ->[R3 w/ mrouted] - sub6 -> - sub3 -> -sub7->pc2
Problem is that when I try to reggister to IGMP traffic from PC1 mrouted forward all traffic successfully but when I try to register to same multicast address from PC2 i do not get anything. I think it is because mrouted that is running on R3 do not get that IGMP traffic so I made a tunnel btw R1 and R3 via mrouted

Code: Select all

R1 mrouted.conf tunnel 10.5.5.1 10.6.6.1 rate_limit 0

Code: Select all

R3 mrouted.conf tunnel 10.6.6.1 10.5.5.1 rate_limit 0
but still no success.

Maybe someone had made tunnels using mrouted?

Please help.

Thanks.
