saved playlist file but order not kept when loaded back up

i'm using a HP dv-6174ea laptopn running linux mint x64 elyssa running vlc 0.9.3.

i've saved a playlist file for an audiobook. i've saved it in xspf format.when i load this file there are a 8 files that go out of order to the start of the playlist when they should be further down.

is there any way to fix this?

Still having that problem? I am. Been looking for answers all day, and those I've found are either unclear or don't work. I'll keep looking, oh yeah and Big Bad Bump as a way to get answers to this longstanding problem with VLC which I love but hate the playlist.

Edit: This problem appears to have been fixed in VLC 0.9.9 and the new v1.0.0 that I am now testing. Thank you to the VLC team.
