I'm running VLC (latest test version) under OS X 10.3.2. I've noticed that when I run a HD intensive app, like BitTorrent, VLC skips every 10-20 sec when BitTorrent client writes to a disk. I also have journaling turned on. I'm suspecting this happens because VLC's buffer is either too small or nonexistent. Latest MPlayer OSX does not have this problem (prior to 6.5, they did have the same problem but version 6.5 fixed that).
As you might imagine, this can be really annoying and only time I can run VLC is when I'm not downloading. This can be extremely frustrating.
Could someone shed some more light on this?
