Controls in Mozilla-Plugin?

Postby docpeter » 21 Nov 2008 19:13

Hello,
i like the VLC Player since several times. Now i use the mozilla-Plugin for a presentation, where some links go to mpegs. They are played within firefox (win vista), that's fine.
But is there a way to show controls for play, pause or volume etc in the plugin?

Thanks!
Peter

The plugin itself does not provide those controls (for windows..). It only provide JavaScript API (http://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation: ... lla_plugin).

Have a look to revolunet website (http://code.revolunet.com/VLCcontrols). He wrote a JS lib to add a control bar below your VLC plugin. It allows you to pause, play and much more, but you need to modify a bit HTML pages, so it is only suitable if you have "write" access to pages you want to modify.
Otherwise, it is possible to create a greasemonkey script to modify public web pages on-the-fly from your firefox.
