Beep alert on Step Forward/Backward

When advancing and rewinding through a video using Step Forward and Step Backward, VLC beeps the system alert sound.

When skipping several minutes (repeated pressing of these key combinations), the repeated beeping is quite distracting.

Can the beeping either be eliminated during Stepping or made optional (i.e., in Preferences: turn system beep on or off)? Muting the movie's audio during stepping is not an elegant solution...

Thanks for a great player. It's the only player one needs.
