Win ME and older

Postby Quaoar » 26 Sep 2008 01:29

Maybe you could put a warning on the download page for people using Win ME and older that 0.9.2 isn't going to work for them. That way they won't needlessly overwrite their working copy of 0.8.6.

There is already one on the download Windows page:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Latest packages (0.9.2)

This release only supports Windows 2000 and later. Windows 95, 98 and Me users, please click here.
However perhaps you meant the main homepage which detects the OS automatically?

Yes, I did. The warning I eventually found was hidden away on the 'other operating systems' page. To most people that means Linux and Mac. Win ME is still Windows and people who still use it (not necessarily by choice) still think of themselves as Windows users. By the way, thanks for keeping a copy of 0.8.6 on-line.
