VLC Video output problem

Postby ewc2010 » 14 Sep 2008 11:36

hi all
i run vlc on (ARM processor + DSP) , i have a problem that when i play high resolution video i found that the video is displayed too slow i measuered the times of decodeing compared to the time taked by the video output thread and i found that the video output take too long time compared to decoding time which is an unexpected thing.
i expect that decoding time will be lesser since it run on DSP but i did not expect that video output will be the bottleneck
i can play 320*240 25Frame/Sec video's --> video is smoothly displayed but the
above problem faced me when i try to run 480*272 20Freame/Sec video's
any help / suggestion are greatly appreciated
Or any readings about vlc video output thread details

It is very probable VLC is not using the DSP.
