tv signal going blank between videos

Postby innerspace » 26 Aug 2008 14:33

I use vlc with the c# wrapper in a custom video broadcaster.

Geforce 7300LE on windows xp sp2 using TV output (PAL)

I recently had to switch the output module from open gl to directx3d to solve a problem with video playing in a jumping/jerky motion.

This has now brought around a new, though less serious problem.

In between many video files the signal on the TV output seems to drop to nothing for a second or 2 before returning.
It is not just VLC which disappears but also a logo, clock and text scroller sharing the screen.
Depending on the TV the screen either goes black/blue/brings up a screen saver

Directx 3D and openGL are the only output modules that work with my setup - openGL causes more serious freezing/jumping problems - directx3D causes the scenario above.

I am using VLC 0.8.6i stable release

Any ideas?

Try nightlies. Currently VLC stops video output and start it again when next item comes up in the playlist and I think it causes the problems.
