Resizing - force aspect ratio to interface?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Resizing - force aspect ratio to interface?

Postby BobTheDecoy » 26 Aug 2008 10:04

First, I must say that VLC is the greatest program ever and I've been using it since the beginning without ever having any problems.

Is there any way to force the interface to scale with the video's dimensions in order to prevent the black bars from showing up? (and without stretching) Basically so VLC would only allow itself to resize in one diagonal direction based on the video's aspect ratio.

Thanks!

Like what you get when using ctrl or shift (or some other key) when resizing images in most image editors or word processors?

That's currently not possible in VLC but it's a great idea. In the meanwhile you can use the 'z' hotkey to switch between different zoom levels.
