DVD-RAM

Postby johnathan » 14 Aug 2008 20:03

I would like to use VLC to make use of video from DVD-RAM disks from a dvd recorder and a dvd video camera.
The disk have a main folder DVD_RTAV containing files VR_MANGR.BUP VR_MANGR.INF and a video file VR_MOVIE.VRO.
I have searched VideoLAN and the forums but there is no reference to DVD-RAM or .VRO files

Does anyone know if VLC can read these steams Help if possible please.

I am using Ubuntu Studio 7.10 with VLC and have had no problems so far, probably luck as I have only been using Linux for less than a month

VRO are playable with VLC, but the chapters are not ordered and the timeline is broken.

Thanks have not had any problems yet but there may be problems with files that have been edited on the Panasonic DVD recorder.
I am now extracting the mpeg streams and then playing with VLC (As in my reply to post .VRO files) seems to be working
