Using Remote Control with VLC on windows XP

Is it possible to control VLC with a Remote Control. I have a PC using windows XP (i do not have Media Center). I do not a have a remote control yet. If it is possible which one should I get

Nightlies should in theory work with any remote that sends normal key commands.

You can absolutely use a remote control to control VLC on Windows XP with out software Intelliremote

It even comes with a profile for VLC. Check it out and the wide range of remotes we support.
