Subtitle Question

Postby Ygdrad » 29 Jul 2008 07:08

I used to play most of my MKV files using media player classic, but recently switched to VLC because it can skip frames and lets me play the HD videos smoothly. I have a problem though. When I watched the MKV files with other video players the subtitles used custom fancy fonts and had karaoke for the opening and ending songs but VLC only shows me very standard generic subtitles.

My question is the following. Is there a way to have the fancy custom subtitles which are meant to be in the videos show up instead of the generic ones there by default?

Also, when I watch videos, some of them don't have the timeline bar at the bottom of the window and I cant skip forward or back, is there any way to fix this?
