repeat selected files in VLC playlist?

hi,

i want to give a sort of 'video slideshow', showing a number of video 'cards' in short loops interspersed with longer 10-second segments of video.
is there any way i can get vlc to repeat only certain items in my playlist?

Do you mean play the first video for 10 seconds, move to the next video in the playlist and play that for 10 seconds, ect? CloudStalker had requested something like that here (scroll to #3) Preview Items in a Playlist but nothing going yet.

hey. thanks for replying.
not quite... just so that if i need to i can leave certain videos looping.
it's for a play, so the scenes vary in length but they have constant video backdrops...

Yeah, VLC 0.9.0 will have a repeat/loop function.
