VLC firefox plugin http streaming

Does the firefiox plugin (8.6x) allow the seeking of http/mpg streams(using apache web server). I know it can be done if you use a apache web server and vlc from the client.

The FF plugin allows seeking through its Javascript API. (.input.position and .input.time are read-write properties)
