MPEG-TS still not handled perfectly

Postby dvbip » 27 May 2008 15:01

I bumped on the following problem:

From my terrestrial broadcast there are coming streams which have
local advertising inserted. I believe these streams may have timing
or continuity counter discontinuity.

What happens with such streams is that when I play in fullscreend mode
I can see that VLC is reinitializing when entering inserted stream, I can
see for a moment display background and window. VLC thus treats such
stream as switching to new channel but this is the same stream.

I wonder if it is possible to solve this.

If video stream really changes, it might be a little hard to overcome with current VLC (same thing with playlists that have video files).
