Info Display? -- Chapter, Title, etc.

Postby soonerlater » 21 May 2008 03:43

Is there a way to make VLC display (and keep displaying) on screen the chapter and title? The status bar at the bottom of the window displays the elapsed and total time. I need also to see chapter X of Y and title A of B. Is there a way to do this?

Hi

I ask myself the same question. Is that possible to display the current chapter? This small featrue stops me using this great software, because I need it for my film analysis.

Thanks a lot

Not yet.

Do you have samples with chapter and names?

Hi

What do you mean with "samples with chapter and names"? I just have a DVD and I want to see the chapter number (1, 2,.....).

Thanks a lot

What would be extra "Cool" would be to have displayed the song title on a music dvd

And do music DVDs even provide song title that they are currently playing?

Firstly, A Music DVD to me is your stanard DVD but instead of being a film it is of a concert or Video Clips, be it the Rolling Stones, U2, Andre Rieu, who ever. These type of DVD will list on the cover of the DVD the songs that the artist sings or plays on that DVD. A feature that Window Media Player has is that it will display the chapter details, eg the song as part of its info display. It would be nice touch if when playing VLC Media Player was also able to do that.

Paste it to your favorite image editor (Edit -> Paste). Save it as JPEG file, and upload it to web using imageshack or similar service and paste link here.

Greetings,

It has been quite some time now. Can VLC Media Player accommodate "soonerlater's" and "islegmar's" request yet?

It has been a long time yet again and VLC appears to still not have this ability. I'd like to add my voice to those who wish to be able to see chapter & title info for DVDs. Is there any chance for this?

Ditto. I agree fully. This hobbles VLC Media Player greatly. It very much needs to display chapter info for DVDs. Why after so many years hasn't this simple feature been added? :(
