vlc - dvb-t - which hd audio codec?

Postby tqft » 13 May 2008 06:17

Sorry for the stupid question.

Built 0.8.6f - happy - enable-dvb [literally ./configure --enable-dvb --enable-h264 so that everything else was as default], FIle Open ... channels.conf and I get the stations in the playlist and sound on all the channels except the HD channels. I get the video but no sound on the HD channels.

Is this a) a limitiation with 0.8.6.x ?
b) a missing codec that isn't included in the default build
c) something else

I have looked high and wide and found no definitive statement on which audio codec is needed for dvb-t - I have seen hints that it is h264 but I am probably wrong.

If it is h264 - where is a good source of test files so I can test my build.

TIA

tested nightly vlc0.90 20080512
./configure --enable-dvb
and (with a make distclean in between)
./configure --enable-dvbpsi --enable-dvb

Opens channel.conf and starts playing the first channel it puts in playlist which is a HD channel and promptly crashes complaining about audio and TS [sorry am at work so errors not handy at the moment].

Anyone know of known problems which dvb-t audio ?
