VLC as http server. Works in Windows. Does it work in Linux?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

VLC as http server. Works in Windows. Does it work in Linux?

Postby videoip » 20 Sep 2004 23:40

I found it useful to use VLC (Win) as http server by placing shared files under "/<VLC root dir>/http/" and starting the web server.

However I can´t play the videos if the VLC server is set up on Linux.

Does anyone know if this feature works under Linux?

it does, but the directory is most likely different. There is a option in the preferences to change which directory to use (and a matching command-line switch but I don't recall it's name )
