playing movies problem

ive tried every thing on this site to get spe help with my movie problem to no avail@!!!!!!!!!--including trying to contact videolan by e-mail--interesting--i get an e-mail back saying no such site!!--here is problem --ever since vlc i get this message on many avi and wmv movies---" ffmeg:more than 5 sec. of late video--dropping frame(computer too slow??)" ---the result is -in order to play the movie-- i have to slow it down 1 or 2 steps and watch it in slow motion w/o sound-bummer!! i have a mac--os x10.4.11 pcc processor. i wld think some settings have to be changed but i dont know what!! any help wld be deeply appreciated!! jr
