Audio Problem for windows 2000

Postby mayoo » 14 Sep 2004 22:05

I tried to play a MPEG-4 file called testaudio.mp4 on VLC player and its only playing the video postion of the clip, the audio is not working. When I tried to play the clip with Quicktimes its gives the following error
"Unsupported MPEG-4 audio format (CELP)". and able to play the video only as well, but the clip works fine with windows media player. Does anyone know why its not working with VLC.

tnx

Select View--Messages before trying to open the clip.

You will likely see an ERROR message, saying something about not supporting the CODEC, and listing what VLC thinks it is.

Thank you for your reply.
The VLC display the follwoing message...
"quicktime error: cannot initialize QT
main error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `mp4a'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format."
Is it a problem with QuickTime or both QT and VLC

Have you tried to play it with the latest 0.8 test software?

Where is the file located? (can it be found on the Web)

Thank you Markfm.
You mean the video file ? ... I can send that to your mail if you can give me your mail address. I will try 0.8 and let you know.

tnx
