I am having a problem with DVD playback using VLC media player that I hope someone can help me with. I have vlc media player installed on a windows 2k machine with a 64 mb ati radeon 7000 vid card. DVD's play very well except for one annoying problem. When there is a lot of fast camera movment or when the camera pans up/down/left/right I see diagonal pixelated lines on the screen. These kind of "slice" or break up the picture. They only form for a second or so and then go away. If camera movement in the movie I am watching is low they usually don't form. They start from lower left and travel upward to the right. They are about 2-4 inches long on a 19 inch lcd monitor. I will list what I have tried so far to correct the issue.
-searching this forum and the internet for a solution (couldn't find a similar post).
-i have tried both old and updated drivers for the vid card. (both didn't work).
-i enabled overlay video output (i don't know why i thought this would work...it didn't)
-i have tried different video output modules (direct x 3d video output seems to work the best)
-i have enabled dma access for my cd rom
if anyone has any suggestions on how I could get rid of these lines, please let me know.
Thanks.
