Get "(no video)" when using Mozilla plug-in on 10.4 PowerPC

Hi, I'm trying to use the VLC media player as a plug-in.

When I use the plug-in test page, I get sound but no video.

I just downloaded the player and the plug-in at the end of December 2007, so I believe everything is up to date. I can play movies on the player no problems.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11 on Dual 450 MHz PowerPC G4.

Please let me know what is going on.

It seems like VLC tries to use the Quartz video output in Mozilla, which isn't exactly a great idea. Try forcing "OpenGL" by going to Video -> output modules inside VLC.app's preferences, check the "advanced" flag at the bottom of the window and switch the popup menu next to "video output module". Hit "Save" afterwards. Please close your webbrowser before changing the preferences.
