Snapshot problem and UI request

Love VLC but have some problems noticed on Win XP pro. When the snapshot of a particular scene is taken, the size is always following that of the original video, regardles of the setting in the "settings" menu.
The snapshot file format for naming stays with sequential numbers (serialized). When activating the (use sequential time stamps) the setting is ignored. No difference between the two- both com out 'vlcsnap-291156.png (jpg)
Is there something I'm overlooking.

I would like to see a streamlined UI that appears similar to a toolbar/menubar acroos the whole top of the screen.

Yeah unfortunately you're not able to take a snapshot of anything but the original video size using VLC, you could try an alternate snapshot or capture program to accomplish this.
