compile vlc fail due to libmpeg issue

im using gentoo linux and im trying to emerge vlc
don't ask me to compile from the package cause i have far far far more issues with the sources
this is what i should be using and a list of all the features

You should use the unstable version of VLC in gentoo.
I have made numerous reports in the gentoo bugzilla advising gentoo to pull 0.6.2 from the stable status (and others have done so as well), but appartently they have a serious lack in maintainers of the media-video section of portage.
