VLC Playback Bug

Postby fminus » 31 Oct 2007 00:16

I do not know what this is classified as, but I am having the following error with VLC. I am running the retail version of Leopard, prior to that it was Tiger, with no problems at all.

Ready, Here we go.

When I open a video, and it plays in the standard window, everything is fine. Then if I doubleclick to make it fullscreen, then go back to the original window size, video is ok. Its when I try to resize it the video window that the bottom half of the video is cut off. I attached a pic to illustrate.

How do i fix this?

Oh, I am also using the latest version that is posted on the main page

i have ran into this issue/bug before wile watching any of the shoutcast video streams when it switches to the next video and the other movie has a different screen resolution ( you will see the screen flicker to the desktop and back to the video window, the same for when playing in full screen), it blurs the bottom and the right side of the video. and very rarely it also will make the sound have a low pitch to it. it also will crash after a wile of doing this. usualy quitting out of VLC and reopening it and play the video will solve it, but your issue might be different then mine but along the same results

that video could be misadjusted or VLC dont know how to handle the correct position of the video properly.

Hmm, seems to be an unnoticed Leopard issue. See viewtopic.php?f=12&t=41740

Ehm, okay. Interesting indeed, as I only saw this in pre-release builds of Leopard...

Ehm, okay. Interesting indeed, as I only saw this in pre-release builds of Leopard...
this is another issue from the ones i posted bout in that VLC and Leopard topic

this one hits tiger and not leopard (so far that i have seen)

his picture is apparently that redraw bug which is a issue of Leopard ( i wasn't thinking about that )

but my issue is wile watching streaming video and the next video starts (which flickers to the desktop and back to fullscreen) and the video is a different screen res then the other video was it will show the right side and the bottom of the screen as a blur (VLC not resizing to the new videos resolution) , and sometimes when this happens the sound is distorted ( sound is playing at normal speed, but makes it sound like its running slower)

it still remains when i take it out of fullscreen, the controller part of the window is there but the picture of the video is what is messed up. restarting VLC fixes this until it happens again. i am not sure how to take a screen capture wile in full screen mode. also this is with the latest (non nightly build) of VLC

i have not ran into this issue in Leopard (yet) but i have ran into the window redraw and the issue with the controls not popping up when you move the mouse wile in fullscreen in leopard

sorry if i thought this issue in this topic was the same as mine

i will have to take screen captures to properly show you what i am talking about, if you dont understand what i am trying to describe
