Time To Live error (BUG)

Postby e6964822 » 30 Oct 2007 17:10

I have VLC 8.6 for windows. I use this script. In the script I write that TTL must be 4. After I read send packeges using one multicast router and packages have TTL=1!

Script:

"C:/Archivos de programa/VideoLAN/VLC/vlc.exe" dshow:// :dshow-vdev="Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000" :dshow-adev="" :dshow-size="" :sout=#transcode{vcodec=DIV3,vb=768,scale=1,acodec=mpga,ab=192,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=rtp,mux=ts,ttl=4,url=224.2.240.36:11168}}

I see that if you writes the TTL into VLC interface the TTL not goes to script like in old VLC versions. I put in preferences TTL 500 and not goes well to.

I use very similar scritp in Linux Fedora Core (VLC 8.5) and I read int this TTL=4 and exits also some problems with TTL. TTL is 1 to!!! :0(

Thank you very mush. Please response this message if some VLC developer read this, I want know it because if not, I write this bug another time because I think that is important that VLC developer knows this BUG.

I love VLC forever!!

Ok :D . VLC developer said me that I must try use las VLC version and put script token like --ttl 5.

I put this that is and error:

"C:/Archivos de programa/VideoLAN/VLC/vlc.exe" dshow://
:dshow-vdev="Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture"
:dshow-adev="C-Media Wave Device" :dshow-size="" :sout=#duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=rtp,ttl=4,mux=ts,url=224.2.173.196:12096}}

And now I put the next and goes well.

"C:/Archivos de programa/VideoLAN/VLC/vlc.exe" dshow://
:dshow-vdev="Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture"
:dshow-adev="C-Media Wave Device" :dshow-size="" :sout=#duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=rtp,mux=ts,url=224.2.173.196:12096}} --ttl 5

Thank you very mush!!!

ps: I detect one inteface bug when you can put TTL value (Time To Live). TTL must be a value between 0 and 255 but
in VLC 0.8.6c the value can be others. In preferences -> ... -> RTP you can put TTL like 500.
