VLC and MMS

Postby tonton03 » 13 Sep 2007 06:05

Hi,

i would like to play a stream with multiple bitrate video
VLC say it :
access_mms: selecting stream[0x1] audio (20 kb/s)
access_mms: ignoring stream[0x2] video (328 kb/s)
access_mms: selecting stream[0x3] video (719 kb/s)
VLC select the high bitrate for video (719 kb/s)
How can i play the slowest (328kb/s) ?

Have you tried, whilst playing the video, selecting a different Video track? To do this, go to "Video >> Video Track" and select a different track (if available? - I'm not sure as I have never tried playing a stream using the MMS protocol).

Cheers, Arite.

Probably VLC can't.

When browsing Preferences I came across the MMS Access module section, and there is a tick box which allows "Force selection of all streams".

To access this (in "Settings >> Preferences..."), go to:
Input / Codecs >> Access modules >> MMS

And then tick the "Force selection of all streams" tick box. Then click "Save".

If all goes well, then all the elementary streams (so multiple video tracks) should become available. I don't know of an MMS stream to test it, but if it doesn't ask upon initial playback which track to play, then have a look at the different video tracks ("Video >> Video Track").

Arite.
