Postby Drizo » 04 Sep 2007 23:00

Lads, how it goin?

Tryin to watch live TV with VLC, and if that works tryin to stream it over the network. With the VLC player the image I get is more that fair, though there is no audio! I have searched over the internet and this forum, but no real answer!

So, could anyone give me advice or even the sollution to this problem if there is any?

Hi - I have experienced the same problem with my PVR-500 (basically the same as two 150). Maybe the Hauppauge tuner card is poorly supported. :(

Let me know if you have fixed the problem.

try this (is not a solution, just a tips):
Run vlc and configure the chanel, when the video is ok, close vlc.
Then run the radio soft of your card, wait a few second, and in the same time run vlc, configure the chanel, in dshow audio device select the stereo mix source of your sound card, and play.
Normaly it's work.
(close the radio soft and vlc, and restart if you want to change the chanel).

Did anyone come up with a solution, or is it just not possible? We have a WinTV-PVR-500, running under Windows 2003, with VLC media player. We get video on the net, but no sound. We are now hearing that this a configuration that will not work if we want sound. Is that really true? How does the sound card fit in - there is no output from the PVR-500 so what does the sound card do? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks!
