DVD Play - No Subtitles

Hello all,

Using VLC 0.86c on WinXP, I have usually no problem with selecting subtitles and them working fine on most DVD's.

Some DVD's, especially Hong Kong Legends Series, such as Police Story II, starring Jackie Chan, have two subtitle tracks, which appear in the subtitle list.
But whatever I select, English or Netherlands, Neither appear during playback.

Any ideas, I have just a few other discs, which exhibit the same problem. Most DVD's work fine.

Other DVD players show the subs no problem.
