I just grabbed faad2-2.5.tar.gz and trying to compile it on linux centos 4.5 for use with vlc
I am using vlc snapshot 200707 ( I have vlc compiled but I think I need to recompile vlc with the faad library)
the README.linux says run autoconf -vif which gives errors:

I grabbed faad from the web site. Wasnt aware of the contrib directory.. THanks.
However, I have the same issue. I did recompile vlc with --enable-faad and reinstall.
