Aiptek Go-HD files do not render audio corectly with VLC

Aiptek is a new hybrid camera that creates H.264 files. Unfortunately VLC has problems rendering audio track from the files which is a bummer.

Both Quicktime and WMP with (with aiptek included decoder) have no problems

If any developer is willing to have a look at the files I can provide samples.

I don't have trouble with the audio at all, as a matter of a fact, for me the video locks up and doesn't update but the audio keeps going.

I noticed some of the same kind of video lock up problem playing videos from youtube, although they probably use a different codec, and that was fixed with the 0.8.6a release.

VLC also for me performs way better then quicktime and windows media player, but those ones video doesn't lock up.

Hmm. my video is perfectly fluid and there is definit problem with audio decoding, resulting in "poping" effect especialy when there is an audio voulme change.

I have newest firmware 1.5 in the camera.

Also tried VLC 0.9 beta and its the same, seting VLC to prefere system codecs makes no diffrence. (don't know if this option works)

Well, sorry to be a whiner, but those people are doing some non-standard codecs. As VLC uses its internal codecs, that may be why. What are the messages given by VLC ?

We all know its a marvel of taiwanees technology, but it uses fairly standard chipset for H.264 that will be common in many lowend cameras soon. Mplayer does cope with it.

I don't have the latest firmware (I just got mine last week), maybe the latest firmware messed up audio encoding. The videos from the posters on that other forum, their videos, for me at least, do not have abnormal audio problems.

I think my video problems may be related to performance, I noticed the video works well on my desktop when there are no other apps running, if I have an app taking cpu in the back ground, I notice the image locks more often, and pausing the player and unpausing fixes it temporarily. Also I did receive one message about my system possibly being to slow but that message didn't coincide with the frame not being updated.
