pixelated

when i play videos in vlc i can see every pixel but when i play them in other players its all clear. now i dont want to use another player i want to use vlc. so i was messing with the settings and i set video output to opengl, and now i dont see the pixels anymore. but the prob is now when a lot moves on the screen i see these annoying lines of where the movments a little faster on the top of the screen then the bottom. this is annoying too. also sometimes the video freezes for a sec.
i reset all the settings and it still does it.
im running sabayon and i installed vlc w/ emerge
