Audio problems/mac 10.34/ VLC 7.2

I have lost my audio on version 7.2 and it was working before. I am using a G4 450Mhz with Mac OS 10.34 and the latest version of VLC. Tried it on a different mac and it worked fine. I have deleted the VLC preferences and it made no difference. Then tried the 7.0 version and still no audio.

Are there any other preference files I can delete apart from library/preferences?
