VLC do not support .sub subtitle format ?
If it's VobSub, then no.

I've heard that developersare working on it.

Why do I find a "vobsub" option in the "Setting->Preference->Modules->subtitle demux" if vlc doesn't support this subtitle format?

VLC can read vobsubs, it just can't display them properly.
Don't use PMs for support questions.
