Noob wants to install VLC on PS3 (Solved thx)

I want to install VLC on my PS3. I'm running the PS3 version of Yellow Dog Linux 5.0.
I really don't know how to do much on linux yet as i just got it. I downloaded the big megapack that is supposed to have all the dependancies and such but the doinst.sh included does nothing and I really dont know how to do much here. Precise instructions for a noob would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

hmm, well i suppose that would be a good site if half the links to the RPMS werent invalid. Well i found most of the stuff but damn dependancies. I dunno maybe i did something wrong... Had to reinstall linux because there were so many things that started conflicting. Actually it was mostly libgnutls that was causing issues... oi makes my head spin trying to figure out some of this stuff. So unorganized... but thats programmers for ya. Any links to a better guide or something i can compile in KDE would be great. Learning a bit and i dont know C++. I'll figure it out just need a bit of a push. thx

Ok, fresh linux install + the link you gave me = success. Works fine, minus the fact that full screen mode is a bit on the glitchy side. If i open the video in full screen it sorta locks up the desktop. sucky. maybe ill figure out whats causing it. I learn fast thank god lol

About the fullscreen mode, you should use a gnome session at the login screen and not Enlightment desktop. If you go in through a GNOME session. It won't crash.
